Glossophobia — The Fear Of Public Speaking

“Well, I would honestly prefer sushi.” said my mentee.

“Sushi over Pizza? Are you kidding me, Jason?”

It was 2:20 pm, and it has been 20 minutes now that we’re arguing about what to eat.

You can relate to this problem, can’t you? Choosing what to eat with someone can get pretty frustrating, especially if it’s followed by hours and hours of public speaking mentorship…

“So, why public speaking, Jason?” — I asked my mentee while waiting for the sushi delivery guy.

“Well, whatever you need to do in life, you will have to speak right? Whether you want to sell, to buy, to influence, to persuade, whatever it is that you want to do, you have to be a good speaker…right?”

Sure. I said back to Jason while nodding at him.

“Well, I have those big dreams I want to achieve. By learning the fundamental principles of public speaking, I will enhance my abilities in persuasion, inspiration & communication and see where all of this goes!” —Said Jason.

“Hmm, Tell me more about those dreams of yours.” I replied.

“Well, whenever I asked someone about their dreams, they said they wanted to change the world, and I’m pretty sure the only change they’ll be doing is changing their clothes after
